As a V6 modder, I welcome our new turbo V6 overlords! They're doing it to win races anyway because of the heavy restrictions on V8's.

The muffler is a little pricey and those headers don't get great power gains but boy does it sound good.

Wish I had the budget for the CSL airbox though...one day.

Sounds great! The 90°V6 in mine is a bit harsh. New setup is going to sound a lot nastier. Bigger cam, more duration, more everything. Will be moving to a dual exhaust with x-pipe this spring and that cuts a lot of the rasp down.

Closed cutout idle:

Open cutout on course:

Yeah, yeah...

Until in 6 months Ford announces that the Raptor will get a special edition with a big supercharged 6.2-7 liter V8.

And the Ford GT will get a super-rare mega-performance track-model double-secret-probation model with GT350R's 5.2 flat-crank Coyote V8 to take on Ferrari 458 Speciale, and the Lambo Huracan, and McLaren 650S.

If the EB-V6 GT is limited to 3900 units, maybe the last 100 units will be V8 powered. Even if most of the Raptors sold have the EB-V6... the special Baja 1000 edition or some such thing will have a big monster V8 under the hood. it kind of makes sense both ways, to sell most with TT-V6s, and a big markup on a few rare V8 fire-breathing monsters later on, after the initial hype starts to fade.

Just because EcoBoost is the word of the day at Detroit NAIAS 2015, doesn't mean it is the final word. V8's demise has been claimed before, and the rumors of it's death then and now are greatly exaggerated.

I didn't realize that I wasn't relaxed, gee, I am glad you told me...

And there are plenty of hype-sters who probably think this sort of thing is accurate.

All good humor is based in truth. Even if this is a mocking joke, it is only because people are saying it earnestly, because a lot of people can't see beyond their own nose, or todays hype headlines.

I agree that people tend to soak up the news/headlines and never think about it with a grain of salt. That being said the industry is moving toward less cylinders with more boost, manufacturers claim it cuts on fuel consumption but we all know here it has more to do with how you drive than what you drive. Hell, I will throw it out there that I bet a majority of small displacement V-8s paired with 7 or 8 speed transmissions would be more economical than a 6 cylinder attached to a 6 speed trans.
